Update on the situation:

It turns out the one I thought did it did not do it. So I had some people out on the streets looking for it, and a friend at customs to call me if he saw it trying to leave. Last night it turned up at one of my friend's shops. He recognized it and told me and I said yes that is my car. So basically he was able to take the car from him and the guy was very nervous he said, and didn't put much if a fight. The license was different of course but it has a unique paint job so i was able to know. I'm very happy this turned out very well
