This years UMA's will take place live Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the legendary B.B. King's Theater in New York City. This prestigious award show, has been described as the “biggest and brightest national award show for indie artists!” The UMA's are noted for celebrating the achievements and culture of independent music and fashion. In addition to honoring underground artists and supporters, the UMA's serve as a stepping stone to career success. The first (1st) lady of Young Money, Nicki Minaj, walked away with an award for Female Artist of the Year in 2008, right before Scotty beamed her up and transported her into the mainstream.
