My credit score is fucked
I know your all like 19. But do any of you have a good scheme on how to get your credit good if your in debt
It's all hospital bills cuz I'm retarded n go to the emergency for everything when I'm sick but sometimes I needed to go cuz I poked myself in the eye once and one time I broke my arm lol
Anyways I read that it's not good to even pay off your collections bills cuz it can actually make your credit worse
Should I pay one of them creditors
Or do it all myself
And what's the best strategy
I have a new car but with a co signer but never late or nothing and that ain't helped a lick at all
So IDK
But I NEED good credit I can't deal with it anymore. I am mad at my mom cuz I swear she let me do whatever I wanted and she never instilled in me how important good credit is so now I'm really irritated.

i'd say the general idea is continue paying and meet any time-based payments that you have, that way so the agency won't continue to try and fuck with you
but paying them off alone won't get the collection off your credit report.. you should then write a letter of appeal to the agency personally explaining that you want to expedite the process of having the credit removed from the report.. basically come up with a sob story and convince them to remove before it is automatically removed after 7 years.. that boosts your credit score 20 or so points for each collection debt
but you'd also have to take into account how old the debt and whether it is worth paying off
and you'd have to look more into doing this though... FICO treats medical debt differently from other kinds of debt
this is a pretty good link

EDIT:
"Not long ago, FICO introduced a new scoring model, FICO® Score 9, that included significant changes to the way medical debt is factored into calculations. Now, when you pay your medical bill in full, it won’t show up on your credit report at all. So paying your medical bill–even after it’s sent to collections–ensures it won’t be included on your credit report, according to FICO. They explain:
“FICO® Score 9 disregards all paid collection accounts…Keep in mind that any missed payments associated with the original credit account before it was sent to the collection agency will still be considered by FICO® Score 9. It is only the third-party collection account that is ignored, if and when that collection account is paid.”
In other words, as long as your payments to the collections agency are on time, you should have the collections record totally removed."

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm start paying stuff of little by little but I read somewhere that paying stuff off doesn't improve your score so like I'm going to have pay old collections off plus IDK what else but I got one year to get my credit right cuz my lease is gonna be up n I'm done with kissing asses to get a co signer it's so irritating plus I wanna move n everywhere wants credit checks unless it's a shithole but I'm not trying to live in a shot hole ....I owe Luke 6 grand in collections so that is like 500 a month but I'm going to pay more than that n hopefully have it all paid way before the year is up n I just hope it bumps my score up at least 100 points
